Who?

High school students that are looking for real-world work experiences within Criminal Justice or Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Trade fields.

What?
The Finger Lakes Economic Development Center has teamed up with Exploring Club to help bring students a real-world career experience. Local businesses throughout the Community will allow for students to attend a live job site to see what they do every day. Exploring Club is a youth development program to help students see what opportunities are in the area, along with helping decide a potential career.
Where?
The students will meet at job sites of local businesses.

  o Moravic’s Well Drilling
  o Yates County Jail
  o Penn Yan Village Court House
  o Yates County Court House
When?
The Finger Lakes Economic Development Center in conjunction with the Exploring Division of Seneca Waterways  Council,  BSA  have  developed  an  exciting  hands­ on  look  into  careers  in  the  trades.  We would like to invite you and your parent(s) to attend a informational meetings.  See Guidance Counselor for up to date information.

This program  will  take  place  at  various  local  businesses  in  trades like Electrical,  Manufacturing,  Automotive, Renewable Energy, Construction, Heavy Equipment, Excavating and more! Students will meet at the businesses to learn what exciting opportunities exist in the trades, to get a real sense of what working there is like and decide if it might be a career path for them.

Do you have an interest in welding, heavy equipment, electrical or manufacturing?  Not sure what advanced manufacturing or skilled trades are? Are you unfamiliar with local businesses?  Join the Exploring Club to experience what opportunities are here within our community.
